We have been looking for 3D shapes in our environment.  It was very hard to find a cone!

Basketball with Kelsey Griffin

We were lucky enough to have a half an hour basketball session with Kelsey Griffin from the Bendigo Spirit team.  Kelsey was there to promote our Fresh Fruit Friday sponsors. Kelsey thinks we have some budding basketballers amongst our group!

Friction and ball pressure

Our Humanities topic this term has been well received so far.  The children are enjoying lots of different investigations about Toys.  We spent some time whizzing down the slide investigating friction.  Do you think you would go faster if you layed down? Why or why not?  We also investigated how much ball pressure effects it’s bounce.

Graphs and Data

In Mathematics we have been collecting data and representing it in graphs.  We have been learning how to use tally marks as an effective method to collect data.  On Thursday we spent some time down at the highway collecting data on either the colours of cars passing or the type of vehicle.  And yes, of course we had a few trucks honking for us!

Handslam is a popular lunchtime activity. Staff and students have developed rules that everyone plays by. We spent some time polishing our skills and ensuring we know how the rules are implemented.
